Dragons’ Den star Arlene Dickinson will be gracing the Private Capital Markets Association’s Western National Industry Conference on November 22, 2018 at The Glencoe Club in Calgary.
Dickinson will be one of two keynote speakers at the event. She is known as the CEO of Venture Communications and District Ventures Capital. She joined the second season of CBC reality show Dragons’ Den in 2007 as one of the venture capitalist and had been the main cast until the show’s ninth season in 2015. She eventually returned as one of the main cast during the 12th season.
Arlene also appeared on the reality series The Big Decision, where she helped struggling business owners get back on their feet by teaching them to navigate the market.
Dickinson is an Honorary Captain of the Royal Canadian Navy and is the recipient of honorary degrees from Mount Saint Vincent University, Concordia University, Saint Mary’s University and NAIT. She is also a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee medal.
A self-made multi-millionaire, Dickinson has received many distinctions and awards including Pinnacle Award for Entrepreneurial Excellence and Calgary Business Owner of the Year. She was also named as one of the Top 100 Women Business Owners by PROFIT magazine.
